Mr Pet Lover ("we", "our", "the Site") operates mrpetlover.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have over it.

By using mrpetlover.com you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site. We review this policy on a rolling basis and the "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.

Information We Collect

Information you give us directly. When you email us, submit a pet story, sign up for our newsletter, or post in the community, you may share your name, email address, the content of your message, and any photos you choose to include.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our hosting platform (Vercel) and our analytics provider (Google Analytics 4) record standard log data: IP address, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type, operating system, the pages you view, the referring site, and the time and duration of your visit.

Cookies and similar technologies. We use first-party cookies for session continuity and to remember preferences (e.g. theme). Third-party cookies are set by the services described in the next section.

Third-Party Services and Advertising

Google AdSense. This site uses Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service operated by Google LLC. Google and its partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site and other websites on the Internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Google Analytics 4. We use Google Analytics to understand traffic patterns and improve content. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect the data described in Google's Privacy Policy. We have enabled IP anonymisation.

Affiliate networks. We participate in the Amazon Associates Program, Chewy Affiliate Program, Impact.com (for pet insurance partners), and similar programs. When you click an affiliate link we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These networks set their own cookies (typically a 24-hour to 90-day window depending on the program) for attribution purposes — see the Disclaimer for the full list.

Hosting and infrastructure. The Site is hosted on Vercel (Vercel Inc.), uses Supabase (Supabase Inc.) for database storage, and Cloudflare R2 for media storage. These providers process server logs to deliver the Site.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

• Deliver the Site and the content you request
• Reply to messages, pet-story submissions, and corrections you send us
• Send newsletters and updates *only* if you have explicitly opted in
• Understand which content is useful and improve it
• Serve ads through Google AdSense (see the previous section for your opt-out rights)
• Detect and prevent abuse, spam, and security threats
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Children's Privacy

Mr Pet Lover is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please email contact@mrpetlover.com and we will delete it.

Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
• Delete information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions
• Restrict or object to certain processing

• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Data Security and Retention

We use commercially reasonable safeguards including HTTPS encryption in transit, encrypted database storage, role-based access controls on our admin interfaces, and the security practices of Vercel, Supabase, Cloudflare, and Google. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain log data for up to 26 months (the Google Analytics default), correspondence for as long as needed to resolve your inquiry, and account / newsletter data until you ask us to delete it.

International Transfers

Mr Pet Lover is operated from the Philippines. Our service providers (Google, Vercel, Supabase, Cloudflare) process data in the United States, the European Union, and other regions. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and the providers' own adequacy frameworks for international transfers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or applicable law. When we make material changes we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
